Edward Burt Duvall, 59 of the 177 Trails End Road, Winnfield, La. was transferred from Red River Parish on Wednesday evening and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with 1-count of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in Natchitoches Parish and 1-count of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in the State of New Mexico.
Duvall was convicted of Indecent Behavior with in Juvenile in St. Tammany Parish, La. in 2000.
Detectives assigned to the NPSO Sex Offender Unit and US Marshal’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit had been looking for Duvall since detectives learned that he had been living in the Natchitoches area without registering as a sex offender in Natchitoches Parish.
NPSO Detectives obtained a criminal arrest warrant through the Tenth Judicial District Court at that time for Duvall’s arrest.
Detectives and US Marshal’s had reliable information that Duvall had ties to the States of Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Texas and Louisiana and had recently been traveling in those states.
Duvall is currently being held in the Natchitoches Parish Detention on Natchitoches charges and will be extradited to New Mexico after his pending criminal matters are concluded in Natchitoches.
Red River Parish Sheriff’s Deputy John Mahfouz made the arrest.
