Tonight, in a special meeting called by the Natchitoches Parish School board, the Board voted 6 to 5 to name the new Junior High school the “Natchitoches Junior High School.” The new school will be housed in the old location of the Frankie Ray Jackson, Sr. Technical School.

The site of the former Frankie Ray Jackson, Sr. Technical School has been undergoing a remodel as of late.

The School Board meeting room was packed and each member of the public that wanted to address the issue was given 3 minutes of time to address the Board and audience. When the final vote was cast, the record will show that 6 members were in favor of the name and 5 members were opposed. Motion to name the new Junior High School the “Natchitoches Junior High School” passed.
