NPSO Deputies arrest two Coushatta men on Drug Charges during Campti traffic stop

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two Coushatta men on felony drug charges and outstanding warrants during a traffic stop on US-71 in Campti, La. on Wednesday according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday morning May 27th at approximately 12:30am, Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Division were patrolling in the Campti area, when they stopped a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe on US-71 for a traffic violation.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as William T. Webb, 30, of Coushatta, La.

Killingworth

During the traffic stop, deputies observed suspected drug paraphernalia in plain view in the vehicle leading them to believe that criminal activity existed.

A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Royce Killingworth Jr., 40 of Coushatta, La.

A local warrants check on both individuals revealed two outstanding Natchitoches Parish warrants on Killingworth for Failure to Appear in the Tenth Judicial District Court on August 27, 2014 for Cruelty to Animals, and Domestic Abuse Battery.

Killingworth was placed under arrest.

Deputies obtained permission to search the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, deputies seized several small baggies containing suspected crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia commonly used to smoke illegal narcotics.

As a result deputies arrested:

William T. Webb, 30, of Route 5, Coushatta, La. transported and booked into the Natchitoches Detention Center charged with Possession of CDS Schedule II Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and traffic offenses.

Royce Killingworth Jr., 40, of the 100 block of Highline Road, Coushatta, La., transported and booked into the Natchitoches Detention Center charged with Possession of CDS Schedule II Crystal Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Appear for Cruelty to Animals, and Domestic Abuse Battery.

Both suspects remain in the Natchitoches Detention Center awaiting bond.

The vehicle was impounded by a local wrecker service.

Deputies C. Beaudion and D. Caballero made the arrests.
