Jennifer Sheffield created Spark Studio with the idea that everything begins with a spark. Find your spark of curiosity, genius, hunger and inspiration with Vinyasa Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates classes.
“I am excited because we are all going to be able to grow together. Me with my practice and the community through their journey with yoga,” said Sheffield. “Five years ago I started to notice some anxiety within myself. I began doing yoga two times a week and it was as if I had walked out of the fog. I started going to Lotus in the Pines and it opened my eyes to the lack of balance and passion in my life. I realized I was on autopilot just going through the motions. It rekindled a hunger in me that I had lost and the spark that yoga ignited in me began to grow.”
Sheffield logged 200 hours of training and became a Registered Yoga Teacher. Sheffield will offer basic and restorative yoga classes. She plans to focus on the basics of yoga for beginners and as the students grow begin to offer more classes including power, hot and mellow flow yoga.
“I felt Natchitoches was missing a place where people could go for a whole wellness approach to fitness,” said Sheffield. “Yoga provides an outlet for people to get out of their minds and back into their bodies. The style of yoga we teach is Vinyasa where you consciously connect movement with breath. We are committed to sharing the healing and rejuvenating benefits of our practices for personal transformation and growth. The cool thing about yoga is that it is for everyone.”
