The Food Bank of Central Louisiana recognized Elizabeth Wysingle as Agency Volunteer of the Year for 2015. Wysingle volunteers at the Natchitoches Parish Council on Aging. The COA presented her with an award at a recognition ceremony July 12 for her devoted and valuable year of service.
The award expressed the COA’s appreciation for the distinguished leadership Wysingle provided as Volunteer of the Year for 2015-16. Kelvin Porter presented her with a certificate on behalf of State Rep. Kenny Cox and the Louisiana House of Representatives to extend their congratulations.
City Councilwoman Sylvia Morrow and Mayor Lee Posey attended the event. “I didn’t know about all the work you do for the Food Bank,” said Posey. “I knew about all the work you do for your community and that’s special in itself. We appreciate the work you do in the Town South subdivision.”
Cox called in and was put on speakerphone so he could personally thank Wysingle, who he said is a great testimony to being a volunteer.
“I want to thank the Lord first,” said Wysingle. “I’m determined to continue doing what I can to help people.”
