Two teams from Northwestern State University will be competing in the 2016 Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship on Green River Lake in Campbellsville, Kentucky July 28-30.
The teams of John Ledet and Justin Cooper and Aaron Belgard and Logan Laprarie will represent NSU. Ledet and Cooper are coming off a win at the Bassmaster College Series Wild Card on Lake Murray in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Belgard and Laprarie also had an outstanding tournament finishing a strong third.
Eighty-nine teams will compete for two days with the top 12 advancing to the third day. The top four teams will advance to the 2016 Carhartt Bassmaster College Series Classic Bracket with the eight competitors going head to head. The winner will earn a spot in the 2017 GEICO Bassmaster Classic on Lake Conroe in Texas next March.
