Northwestern State University’s Gallaspy College of Education and Human Development will host informational presentations on Autism Spectrum Disorder Thursday, Nov. 3 in the auditorium of the Teacher Education Center. Kristi Morin, a Northwestern State alum who is a doctoral candidate at Texas A&M University and an expert on autism spectrum disorder, will be guest speaker.
Morin will speak at 2:30 p.m. on “Breaking the Chains of Inaccessibility: How to Support Students with disAbilities in the College Classroom.” The presentation is geared towards NSU faculty and students. She will speak at 5:30 p.m. on “Supporting Children with Autism in the Home Using Behavioral Interventions: Ideas and Resources.” This presentation is geared towards families and others who interact with autistic individuals.
