Robeline man arrested on felony drug charges

A Robeline man was arrested by Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Robeline Police on drug charges following a suspicous person complaint Nov. 13 at 9:05 p.m., according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Patrol Division deputies and Robeline Police responded to 911 reports of a suspicious man walking in yards and on Many Street in Robeline. While checking the area for suspicious activity they came in contact with a person on La. Hwy. 6 West, identified as Bronson D. Smith of Robeline.

While speaking with Smith he appeared uneasy as he was swaying his arms in the air back and forth and speaking really fast, leading deputies to believe that he appeared to be under the influence of some type of narcotic.

Deputies asked Smith if he had any illegal items on his person to which he responded, “No, you can check if you want.”

During a search of Smith, deputies discovered several cellophane baggies containing suspected methamphetamine.

Robeline Police also held an outstanding warrant on Smith for domestic abuse battery.

As a result deputies arrested:
Bronson Dewayne Smith, 37 of the 100 block of Many Street, Robeline. He was transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center and charged with possession of CDS schedule II Methamphetamine and domestic abuse battery.
Smith awaits bond.
