FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Natchitoches Parish President Rick Nowlin announces that, weather permitting, the one block section of Payne Drive located between Michelle Drive and Miller Drive will be temporarily closed to all traffic on Monday, May 1, 2017.
The temporary road closure is necessary in order to allow Parish Highway crews to make repairs to both abutments of a short timber bridge located within that block of Payne Drive.
It is anticipated that the temporary closure will begin around 8:00 a.m. and extend until late afternoon.
Because of the continued closure of a bridge on Miller Drive that was damaged during the March 8, 2016, flash flood event, traffic must detour around the work area via Michelle Drive and Cherie Drive.

I’ll try to help you understand. First get your tax notice which you received last Nov. from the local sherriff. Look for a line that says something like “road maintenance…district..”.
That is what you paid for roads. The tax notice also shows what you paid for river levees, hospital, fire protection, library, Cane River Commission, Red River Commission, and Sherriff’s office.
I hope this helps you understand.
Parish road repairs start as soon as parish residents start paying meaningful road repair taxes.
Just what does that mean? Are there taxes we don’t know about because the roads in the entire subdivision are raggedy, knocking alignments off plus tires are being torn up. I’m sure we will do what it takes for our subdivision to be up to part.
