  1. Gerald,
The light shines in the darkness. Rose was an incredible light that reflected the beauty of a life hidden in Christ. Please know that my prayer is that the the light of Christ will sustain you in this dark hour. We mourn not as those who have no hope. In Christ!

  2. Sis. Rose was such an awesome gift to the Body of Christ. She touched the lives of many from various racial/ethnic backgrounds, political circles and religious backgrounds . She will surely be missed, but her impartation will forever live on. It is my prayer that as Senator Gerald Long, other family, friends and constituents of Sis. Rose Long mourn her physical death, God will ” give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.”

  3. Mr. Gerald, my heart goes out to your family. My many times meeting with Mrs. Rose was indeed a pleasure. I saw her last year in the Walmart Parking lot and she shared her illness with me. She asked me to pray for her. I told her always. What an awesome woman. Rest in Peace Mrs. Rose. God knows best. Mr. Gerald may you and your family draw comfort from The Master’s perfect peace. She was a great role model. I never saw her without a smile. I don’t fool myself to think she never had bad days, that’s life we all do, but I can say she always greeted you with such a great smile.

  4. Rose. What a gift from God to Gerald and their family and to the community and beyond. Her life stood for something. She made more than a “dent in the universe.” She did not live for herself, she lived for others. She cared about people. My opinion is that she knew she mattered to God and knowing that allowed her to help others to know that same truth. She was focused. May we learn form her life. Praying for you Gerald. Love you man. May God continue to give you strength.

  21. This breaks my heart. Rose was one of the most wonderful women I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. My mother once gave her a recipe, and Rose never once failed to mention how good that recipe tasted every time she met my mother over the years. She was a kind and loving woman, a great and inspirational speaker, and a wonderful asset to Gerald as he serves our area in the Louisiana Senate. We will miss her greatly, but I know she is rejoicing to be free of illness and to be worshiping at the feet of God. I pray for comfort for the family, for I know they will miss this wonderful woman in their lives.
