Over 50 members of the Society for Creative Anachronism from Natchitoches, Shreveport, Alexandria and Lafayette gathered at the old Magnet School campus Saturday, June 10th for SCA Regional Fighter Practice.

The area resounded with the “Twack!” of weapons on shields and armor as SCA fighters battled in a style known as Chivalric Combat which features full speed, direct contact fighting with a variety of weapons and armor. In addition to the fighting, SCA members practiced archery and craft skills. The practice was an opportunity for the members to polish their skills for the upcoming Bellweather Event to be held July 22nd at Mangum FUMC, 3939 Pines Rd. Shreveport.
