Subject’s disdain for police response lands him in jail

On August 7, 2017 at approximately 10:20 a.m. Demarkus Zeno came into The Natchitoches Police Department with a complaint. After initially speaking with Zeno the officer determined that his complaint was a civil matter not a criminal matter and advised him what he could do to resolve it. Zeno became upset and the officer again explained the proper steps for Zeno to take in order to resolve his civil matter.

Zeno then became violent and threatened to harm the officer and others in the building. Zeno also resisted arrest, committed a battery on a police officer and threatened to burn the building.

Demarkus Zeno was charged with 6 counts of resisting a police officer with force or violence, 3 counts of threatening a public official, 1 count of battery on a police officer and 1 count of communicating of false information of a planned arson.
Zeno was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
