David Levy and Cole Lucky brainstormed the idea for a pawn shop on the golf course one day. Cole had a vacant building and David had experience in the pawn industry.

In the pawn business since the early 80s, David said it’s an enjoyable and fun job. “I lit up when Cole said ‘pawn shop,’” said David, who quickly recruited his son Adam to work with him. “We haven’t had a break since the doors opened.”

Premium Pawn has continued to broaden its inventory with a selection of over 200 guns, knives, hunting and fishing supplies, stereo and car audio equipment, newer and retro game systems, over 10,000 movies, power tools, home appliances and electronics, music and more.

Quality is important so don’t worry, from movies to laptops, everything is checked before it’s taken in to the system and before it’s put out on the floor.

“People don’t realize how much of a community service a pawn shop is,” said David. “We serve in between the banks and finance companies for the every day person who needs a small loan. We have a lot of repeat customers with low or fixed incomes who we get to know, so we can help them out as best we can. But our customer base also include doctors, lawyers and gun collectors.”

David credits this wide range of clientele to the recent popularity pawn shops have gained after several TV shows helped dispel some of the myths that surrounded them.

Premium Pawn is open for business Monday-Saturday from 9 am – 6 pm.
