Director of Festivals and Events for the Historic District Business Association (HDBA) Jill Leo and Mayor Lee Posey spoke to the Natchitoches Kiwanis Club at its meeting Nov. 8 about the upcoming Christmas season.

The HDBA is revamping a few of the floats for the parade that takes place on festival day (Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1 pm). One is Santa’s float that will have a whole new look to it and another has something to do with the Polar Express and children, but Leo is keeping the rest a secret.

Posey said there will be a few new set pieces on the riverbank as well, but said it’s a secret so everyone will have to see if they can spot the new additions.

The HDBA is also investing more into the firework displays to improve the overall experience. New fireworks will shoot up out of the water on festival day to wow the crowd. Keep an eye out to see if you can spot the changes!
