
A Texas fugitive was arrested by Campti Police and Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies during a traffic stop on Saturday evening according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Campti Police stopped a 2018 Ford pickup truck on US-71 near Hwy. 9 in Campti on Feb. 16 at 9:58 pm for a traffic violation.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as 24-year-old Jacob Aaron Hays of Castor.
During a NLETS drivers license/NCIC background check, Campti Police learned Hays was wanted by Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall, Texas since January 29, 2019 for Assault Bodily Injury to a Family Member.
Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Division responded to assist.
Hays was arrested without incident, transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Texas Fugitive-Assault Bodily Injury to a Family Member.
Hays remains in the Natchitoches Detention Center awaiting extradition to Texas.
