NSU Demon Baseball Brings Heat to LSU Tigers

There was not a empty spot to be had as the LSU baseball team came to play at NSU’s Brown-Stroud Field for the first time since 2014. The more than 3,200 fans took every seat in the fan section and filled the hillsides on each side of the seats. Delicious tailgating aromas filled the air as the Demon supporters enjoyed a beautiful night for baseball. The Demon family had a great deal to cheer about as Coach Barbier’s Demons took command of the game and brought in a decisive 3-1 victory over the LSU Tigers. Well done gentlemen!

  1. Not a empty seat to be had? Wrong! I was there. There were at least 60, and probably more, empty chairbacks. Maybe they had been sold but those ticket holders were no shows. Actually, 60 is a gross underestimate. Those seats only began to fill around the 3rd inning when people who COULDN’T SEE THE FIELD moved to them. Concessions was a complete joke! One person staffing it. The line was a mile long (okay, that’s an exaggeration).

    That’s the negatives…

The positives, it is always so much fun watching the Walmart LSU fans LOSE! They show up all decked out in their ugly LSU garb, acting like “look at me, I’m an LSU fan!” Most have never set foot on the LSU campus.

And the Demons were clearly the better team, last night. Baseball is a funny sport. The two teams could play again, tonight, and the Tigers would probably win. Great pitching by #40 for NSU. His change-up completely fooled the LSU hitters all night. And NSU’s SS #2 is awesome! Very, very quick and athletic. Kid has a future in pro ball. His play to end the 8th was top-notch.
