Despite the rainy weather, the community came out to Ross Williams Park to participate in the Family’s Resource Fair on March 30. The free resource fair was presented by The City of Natchitoches Portable Park. The community had access to glucose checks, vital sign checks, stress management tips and information about teen dating violence. Entertainment for families include hip hop aerobics, fun ways to stay fit with Portable Park, giveaways from the Mobile Market, and a bounce house. The event also provided healthy food options for participants. The resource fair was made possible with support from Block Builders, Mr. Johnny Barnes of the Concerned Citizens Association, Northwestern State University Nursing Students, Child Advocacy, CYL2 and the American Cancer Association. City of Natchitoches Mayor Posey, City Council member Lawrence Batiste and other community leaders came out to support this community event. The fair was funded in part by The Rapides Foundation.
