Natchitoches man arrested on narcotics and weapons charges

Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force Agents and Louisiana Probation and Parole Agents arrested a Natchitoches man on narcotics and weapons charges.

According to a Task Force Official, Jamarquist Jones, B/M 23, was taken into custody at his residence 107 Sowell St. in Natchitoches on April 10 by LA Probation and Parole agents and NMJDTF Agents.

LA Probation and Parole agents were conducting a compliance check on Jones in reference to citizen complaints of illegal narcotics being sold from his residence. LA Probation and Parole agents requested the assistance of the NMJDTF due to the narcotics complaints and Jones being on probation. During the compliance check of the residence, Agents recovered a 380 caliber handgun, 75 suspected crack cocaine rocks, and $611 that was believed to have been derived from drug sales. In addition to the listed items seized from the property, Agents located items and materials used for the purposes of distribution of illegal narcotics.

Jones was placed in NPDC and charged with the following:

Possession of Schedule II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute.
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Jones was issued the district court date of July 1 and was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center to await bond.

The Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force would like to thank the Citizens of Natchitoches for their support. Many times an investigation begins with a simple phone call or tip from a concerned citizen. For this reason the Task Force encourages all citizens to report any crimes in their neighborhoods anonymously by calling 318-357-2248, The Natchitoches Police Department, or the Natchitoches Parish Sheriffs Office.

  1. He’s not mental and he’s not a midget. Some people love their kids enough to pay bond for their kids. If we pay taxes our roads would be fix and put into better use. Not everyone is fortunate enough for the finer things. And since he’s black you call him mental for selling when no one hires.Take a good look at your own kids because parents your kids are no better than him. Instead of talking bad about someone else better look into your own kids. No one life is spared by the world or worldly things. No one is perfect. . .

    • He ain’t did nothing wrong, good guy bad luck! Convicted felon! With a gun and drugs………and the race card is thrown down!!! Yes mental midget! What ever color!

  2. if this mental midget gets bond there is something terribly wrong
with our legal system not like there isn’t already. It is a crying shame that mine and others tax money has to pay for his up keep in jail, hell its not a bad deal for the bad guys…free food,tv,weights, computers .

  3. He is happy because he gets some free room and board and released to go do it again. It is getting absurd that these folks keep getting released. He is already a felon and has broken the law by carrying a fire arm and selling drugs. Throw him in jail and don’t release him. Send a message to these criminals!!
