UPDATE: A third suspect involved in the recent bank robberies was arrested a short time ago in Jackson Parish.
ORIGINAL: Two suspects involved in the April 2 robbery of the City Bank Campti branch have been on the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office radar for the last few weeks. They kept all information pertaining to the case low-key because they didn’t want to tip off the robbers. When a robbery occurred at a BOM in Castor on April 16, evidence suggested the robbers were the same suspects from the Campti bank robbery. Sheriff’s Office detectives, who were working the case non-stop since their investigation began, interviewed suspects and witnesses from the Castor bank robbery along with the Bienville Parish Sheriff’s Office. Evidence also suggested the bank robbers were linked to the bomb threat that occurred at Lakeview High School prior to the City Bank robbery. Similar diversion tactics were used by the suspects prior to the BOM robbery to lure law enforcement away from the area. These robbers are also believed to be involved in additional robberies in North Louisiana.
The NPSO will release additional information as the investigation continues. The Sheriff’s Office asks bank employees to always contact authorities when they see any suspicious activity in the workplace.
