National Prescription Drug Take Back Day: April 27

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 27 aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

Sites are set up throughout communities nationwide so local residents can return their unwanted, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs for safe disposal. The Natchitoches site is located at the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office inside the Courthouse on Church Street.

  1. sounds like a sting being at Sheriffs office and with all these pill heads
in town I am sure they won’t willingly give up there drugs.

  2. You would think the big pharmacy chains could set up this kind of thing for just one day out of the year. Come to think of it, since a large percentage of prescription medicines (including opioids) come from these chains, being a prescription take back site is a good place to start getting serious about preventing addiction and sometimes fatal overdoses.

But then, doesn’t at least one of these stores still sell cigarettes?
