Natchitoches Parish man arrested in connection with kidnapping, rape of juvenile
A joint investigation by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office and Bienville Parish Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a north Natchitoches Parish in connection with the kidnapping and rape of female juvenile under the age of twelve according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones.
On Friday April 19, Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division responded to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center following a sexual assault complaint involving a juvenile.
Detectives learned during the investigation the juvenile had been kidnapped from a Bienville Parish residence then transported to an undisclosed location in north Natchitoches Parish where the alleged sexual assault occurred.
Detectives interviewed the victim in the presence of a parent, gathered evidence and completed an offense report during the initial stages of the investigation.
Detectives identified the suspect as Freddy Allen Perot of Campti.
Natchitoches sheriff’s detectives contacted Bienville Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and briefed them on the case.
Bienville Sheriff’s Deputies obtained sufficient probable cause of the kidnapping in their parish to obtain a criminal warrant signed by a judge for the arrest of Perot.
During the evening of April 20, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a disturbance call in the 700 block of La. Hwy 486 near Campti involving Freddy Perot.
Perot was taken into custody on the outstanding Bienville Parish warrant and transported to the Natchitoches Parish Detention where he was booked and charged with Simple Kidnapping and Probation Violation.
Natchitoches Detectives continued the investigation with the assistance of the Gingerbread House CAC. The Gingerbread House tends to lessen the trauma experienced by child abuse victims as allegations are investigated and to provide support for the child victim in resulting proceedings within the criminal justice system.
NPSO Detectives obtained sufficient evidence and probable cause to obtain a criminal warrant for the arrest of Perot signed by a 10th Judicial District Court Judge on the charges on First Degree Rape.
On May 2, while still being held in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on Bienville Parish felony charges, NPSO Detectives arrested Freddy Allen Perot, 29, of the 300 block of Holman Road, Fairview Alpha for First Degree Rape of a Child under the Age of 12.
Perot who is currently on felony parole for a prior arson conviction remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center with bond set by a 10th Judicial District Court Judge at $1 million dollars.
The criminal investigative file will be turned over to District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington’s Office for review and prosecution.
No further information will be released pertaining to the investigation according to Chief of Investigations Greg Dunn.
