A resolution was passed at Monday evening’s City Council meeting, Aug. 12, to confirm the appointment of Kevin Warner as the Recreation Director for the City of Natchitoches. Warner has years of experience teaching and is excited to jump into his new role.

Area youth were also recognized at the meeting for their participation in the 2019 AUU National Championships on July 7-13 in Orlando, Fla. Davin White introduced the members of the Natchitoches Recreation Department’s Natural Talent Track Team who were able to attend the meeting. Coaches included Syrena Edwards (jumpers and sprinters), Tameshia Frederick (hurdles and sprints), and Latrell Frederick (javelin, discus, and shot). Athletes that spoke at the meeting included Latrell Frederick Jr., Dremarious Brown, and Ezekiel Ware. Several athletes made All American, which means they finished top 8 or better out of all the youth in the country that competed at the event.
