Elkins family donates American flag to Provencal Elementary/Jr. High School

The Elkins family donated a new American flag to Provencal Elementary and Junior High School in memory of Thomas T. Elkins. Elkins graduated from Northwestern State University and was a former Natchitoches Parish teacher and principal. He taught at Natchitoches High School and Flora High School; he was principal of Robeline High School and Parks Elementary School. Elkins was also a member of the Natchitoches Parish Hospital Board and served two terms as mayor of Robeline.

Provencal 3rd Grader Will Elkins and 8th grader Leyton Whittington helped raise the new flag with Rodney Meziere, PJHS 7-8th grade ELA teacher and 4-H sponsor.

Pictured above from left are Mary Yount, Provencal principal, Thomas and Loree Elkins (son and daughter-in-law of Thomas T.
