The Boys to Men Club visited Grambling State University on Friday for a college tour. Upon arriving in campus, the clubmembers were welcomed by an Admissions Recruiter, who took charge of the tour.
The guys were shown thing such as the new state-of-the-art dormitories that GSU has to offer, the progression of the new Digital Library, construction of the new Natatorium, Robinson Stadium, the Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Museum, and much more.
Students finalized their trip with a luncheon at McCall Dining Hall’s 24-hour cafeteria. Club director Jermaine Thomas said that he felt it was good to get the students exposed to institutions of higher learning so that they can start seeing all of the options available to them PRIOR to entering high school.
“This gives the guys 4-5 full years to get their priorities aligned for college admissions, if interested,” said Thomas.
The guys even had time to sat and listen to Retired Coach Wilbert Ellis, whom of which worked closely with GSU Legendary Coach Eddie G. Robinson.
The Boys to Men Club is a service organization designed for youth males. If you would like to contribute to the club, please contact club director Jermaine Thomas at firstname.lastname@example.org.
