City Council's final meeting of year is brief, purchase of land near Parc Natchitoches discussed

The last City Council meeting for 2019 was brief. Two ordinances were introduced to approve the acquisition of two tracts of land for $8,000 each. The City is of the opinion that the purchase of these properties is in the best interests of the City and its citizens for the continued development of Parc Natchitoches and surrounding areas. This is part of the City’s effort to make Northwestern State University’s 85 acres of land and the City’s 100 acres contiguous for hiking and biking trails.
