John Scott, from the Knights of Columbus Immaculate Conception Council #1357, presented a check for $1,000 to the St. Mary’s Pro-Life Club recently, in support of the students going on the March for Life Trip in January. A group from St. Mary’s School, including 28 students, two seminarians, and 14 chaperones will be traveling to Washington D.C. Jan 22-26 for the 47th National March for Life, the largest annual human rights demonstration in the world. The KC donation will be used to help fund travel and hotel expenses. The trip in January will be the sixth year that St. Mary’s has sent a group to participate in the March, which will be held this year on Friday, Jan. 24. In addition to participating in the March, the group will visit Catholic University, the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, and many of the national landmarks in Washington, as well as a side trip to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where two St. Mary’s alumni – Jeremy Friedel and Matthew Thibodeaux — are currently enrolled.
