Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the IMPACT Team stopped a white 1998 Dodge pickup truck on June 3 at 10:30 pm for modified exhaust in the 6400 block of Hwy 6 near Hwy 117.
Deputies made contact with the driver, Jeremy Williams, 37, of the 2100 block of Desoto St. Provencal, La. Deputies confirmed through the state computer that Williams was driving under suspension.
During the course of the investigation, Williams admitted to deputies that he had a glass pipe in the vehicle that he used to smoke methamphetamine. Upon searching the vehicle, deputies located the glass pipe, which had a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine on the inside of it. Deputies also located a digital scale that contained suspected methamphetamine residue on it. Williams was placed under arrest. After realizing that he was being arrested, Williams began to complain of chest tightness.
As a precautionary measure, deputies contacted Natchitoches Regional Medical Center (NRMC) for a trauma unit, who later transported Williams to the NRMC, where he was evaluated.
While at NRMC, deputies located approximately 1.5 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, 2 grams of suspected marijuana and multiple unused plastic bags, which were located on Williams’ person. Williams was medically cleared and released to the custody of the NPSO.
Williams was charged with the following charges:
• Possession of CDS II (methamphetamine) w/intent to distribute.
• Possession of CDS I (marijuana)
• 3 counts – Possession of drug paraphernalia
• 2 counts – Second or subsequent offenses
• 2 counts – Obstruction of Justice
• 2 counts – Resisting arrest
• 1 count – Simple criminal damage to property
• Modified exhaust
• No insurance
• Driving under suspension
Williams was placed into the NPDC with a return court date of 9/7/2021.
