On June 29, 2021 around 7:30 a.m., an officer working security at the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center was notified about a threat that was made the previous day. The nature of the treat led to the hospital being placed on lockdown while detectives investigated the incident. Detectives assigned to the case located the individual who made the comments and they determined that the threat was not credible. The hospital was made aware that the threat was not credible and resumed normal operations.
