The City of Natchitoches is committed to providing a safe and inclusive work environment for its employees.

The City has formed a DEI Committee which stands for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Each department has a representative on the committee. Pictured below are members at their first meeting.

  1. Just another neophyte move by the mayor! Sounds good but meaningless! What is their mission statement?

  2. Why are there 4 Blacks and only 3 Whites? Is the Mayor a member? If so that is only more imbalance. You will have to define equity. If that means equal outcomes rather than equal opportunity, you are just being racist! When I was in graduate school studying business, equity meant ownership, so what is your meaning NOW? Sounds as if you are only setting up committees as a screen for reverse discrimination.

  3. Why are they needed and what will be their goal and purpose. I dont see much of a problem with this in city

  4. Looks like they failed their “diversity” charge by not “including” a white male, Asian or Hispanic in the group nor did they make it very equitable by having 5 females and 2 males. There are other obvious fails but I will leave that for others to note. SMH
