NPSO AND LA. PROBATION & PAROLE PLANNING TO MONITOR SEX OFFENDERS ON HALLOWEEN

One of our children’s most exciting times of the year is only three weeks away.

Halloween!!!

The Center for Disease Control says it should be fine for children to trick or treat in small groups, however, they do not recommend Halloween parties.

Social distancing, wearing a mask and washing hands frequently is recommended.

Each year, the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Sex Offender Unit, La. Probation & Parole-Natchitoches District Office Agents, Natchitoches Police Department and other law enforcement agencies have strict guidelines prohibiting sex offenders from attending Halloween festivities.

We know who the offenders are, have their addresses and plan to make visits to each of them according to NPSO Sheriff’s Sex Offender Detective Lt. Jonathan Byles.

Sheriff Stuart Wright said “we want to make sure our children are safe during this exciting time”.

During the past, we have noticed that some communities in the parish celebrate Halloween during different days other than the actual day of October 31.

If you are planning to have a Halloween trick or treating event in your community other than on October 31, please contact Detective Byles at 357-7841.

This will assist law enforcement, and probation and parole with organizing visits in communities throughout Natchitoches Parish.

Thank You and Have a Safe Upcoming Halloween Natchitoches Parish!!!!
