Dear Taxpayer:

If you purchased an item that was registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles in the month of January 2021, you may be due a refund.

Effective January 1st, 2021, there was a one (1) percent decrease in sales tax for the parish of Natchitoches. An overpayment of sales tax by one (1) percent may have occurred through the Department of Motor Vehicles.

If you feel that you qualify for a refund, please provide proof of purchase with a copy of your registration from the Department of Motor Vehicles to the Natchitoches Tax Commission.

Deadline for filing this claim is December 31, 2021.
