The Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s delayed release of its 2021 state football playoff brackets Monday morning provided good news for Natchitoches Central.
The Chiefs, instead of an undesireable rematch with Benton, head south to Baton Rouge to face Woodlawn of Baton Rouge Friday night at 7. It will be the first playoff appearance since 2015 for NCHS, which was winless in its last 11 games dating back to 2019 until the dawn of this season brought a six-game winning streak.
The LHSAA postponed Sunday’s scheduled playoff announcement to conduct a hearing this morning to resolve an appeal by a New Orleans high school related to its playoff status, delaying the announcement until today.
Check Tuesday morning’s Natchitoches Parish Journal for more information on the local high schools’ playoff games.
