NSU E-LAB Veterans Day Program

NSU E- Lab Veterans Day program took place on Friday, November 12th in the newly constructed outside garden pavilion. Students spent weeks preparing for this program by researching all branches of the armed forces and the roles they have played in securing our freedoms. Mrs. Wiggins, the school librarian and 4-H Club Leader said, “When the students learned of the sacrifices made by our country’s veterans, they were determined to say thank you in a big way. They worked so hard to make sure our nation’s true heroes were shown the appreciation they truly deserve. This is always a work of love and something I look forward to each year.”

Veterans were greeted by a 4-H member as they entered then escorted to reception where they were pinned with a flag pin and ribbon, given a gift bag with many handmade patriotic items and refreshments. The school wide program began a few minutes later where all veterans were recognized and thanked by all in attendance. Many were thanked for their contributions to making this such a special occasion including Mr. Tim Murchison and the City of Natchitoches, NSU, Dr. Stokes, and the NSU E-Lab faculty and staff.
