NPSO: CLOUTIERVILLE MAN INJURED IN SINGLE-VEHICLE CRASH ON LA. HWY 1 SOUTH OF CYPRESS

(CYPRESS)-A Cloutierville man suffered moderate injuries in a single-vehicle crash on La. Hwy 1 south of Cypress early this morning according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 12:55am, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Louisiana State Police, and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a single-vehicle crash involving injuries in the 11000 block of La. Hwy 1 south of Cypress, La.

Deputies arrived on scene finding the sole occupant of the vehicle suffering from moderate injuries.

Air E-Vac helicopter was dispatched to the scene.

Deputies say 36-year old Brandon Jones of Cloutierville was operating a 2014 Nissan Maxima traveling southbound on La. Hwy 1 south of Cypress, when for reasons still under investigation, left the roadway on the left side striking a culvert overturning coming to a rest on its top.

Jones was airlifted from the scene with what is believed to be moderate non-life threatening injuries to an Alexandria hospital.

Trooper J. Axsom assigned to LSP Troop-E worked the crash investigation.
