The Open General Election is coming up on Dec. 11. Polling places open at 7 am and close at 8 pm. Elections are for Consolidated School District No. 8 Proposition (Tax Renewal) and Consolidated School District No. 10 Proposition (Tax Renewal).

The deadline to register to vote and/or make changes online is Nov. 20 at 11:59 pm. Early voting for all interested voters in these districts will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 27 – Saturday, Dec. 4 from 8:30 am – 6 pm (Closed Sunday, Nov. 28) in the Registrar of Voters Office located at 200 Church Street in Room 103 in the Natchitoches Parish Courthouse Building.

Absentee voting by mail is intended for voters who will be out of the Parish on Election Day and the week of Early Voting, or if a person is over the age of 65, or has a mobility impaired ID card (must provide copy). The last day to make a written request for an absentee ballot by mail is Dec. 7 by 4:30 pm. Written request forms can be downloaded at http://www.sos.la.gov under “Elections.” Click on the “VOTE” link, then click on “Vote by Mail, then click on “Application to Vote by Mail.”

Your request must include: Voter’s Name, Natchitoches Parish Address, Date of Birth, Social Security Number or Driver’s License number, Reason the ballot is being requested, Election Date (Dec. 11, 2021), Address to mail ballot, and Voter’s signature.

Mail and hand delivered ballots must be returned to the Registrar of Voters Office by 4:30 pm the day before the election (Dec. 10, 2021). Military and overseas ballots must be returned before noon of Election Day.
