
The Ben D. Johnson Educational Center, (BDJ Center) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit in the west Natchitoches community that provides young adults (17 to 24) a path out of poverty through their Legacy Youth Workforce Development training program. Learn more at http://www.bdjcenter.org.
AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) is a federal service organization with the mission of ending poverty in America. VISTA members assist nonprofit organizations in developing capacity and sustainability of programs that support its mission. VISTAs receive a daily living allowance, medical benefits, paid vacation, sick time, and a choice of an end of service cash award or an education award equal to the current Pell Grant to use for school or student loans. VISTAS also receive childcare assistance, relocation assistance and a year of non-compete eligibility for federal jobs.
These are excellent opportunities for recent college graduates through recent retirees. Professional expertise is not required for all positions, but highly valued. Candidates must be 18 years old and high school graduates. The BDJ Center is an equal opportunity employer.

Endowment-Grants Coordinator – Research grant opportunities and other funding sources.
Marketing Coordinator – Develop and utilize marketing strategies, manage website and social media platforms
Recruiting Coordinator – Develop student recruitment community connections and establish recruitment processes
Special Events and Fundraising Coordinator – Research and develop fundraising event plans and develop partnerships with local businesses and organizations in support of those events
Volunteer Coordinator – Build capacity in Volunteer recruitment, recognition, and engagement
