Christi’s parents are the late Les and Penny Ivey. Wayne’s parents are the late Clarence and Dorothy Cook.

Christi was raised in Natchitoches. She is a graduate of Natchitoches Central High School in 1990 and also from NSU . Christi worked as a radiologic technologist for Drs. Kautz for 15 years in Natchitoches and is now a registered nurse working in Bastrop, Louisiana.

Wayne was born and raised in Bastrop, Louisiana. He is a graduate of Bastrop High School. Wayne worked as a welder for many years before he became an inspector in the oil and gas industry . He worked in the Natchitoches/DeSoto/Red River parish area for 13 years. He retired in 2020.

The couple met in 2014 when Christi picked up a to go order at Cane River Bar and Grill . Wayne and his boss were eating their meal and a casual conversation began . After several run ins at the restaurant, the conversations turned into dates. And the rest is history.
The couple now resides in Bastrop, Louisiana.
