September 26, 1943 – January 30, 2022

Our sweet mother, Beverly Ann Dodd, received her ultimate gift – The Wings to Heaven – on Sunday, January 30.

Beverly, 78 years old, was fondly known as ‘Bev,’ ‘Beverly Ann,’ and ‘Gramma.’ She was born on September 26, 1943 and raised in Natchitoches, Louisiana to Bernard Balthazar and Katie Metoyer. She and her true love, Fred John Dodd, Jr. (who preceded her in death), moved to Los Angeles, California where they raised their three children. After her husband passed in 2004, she returned to Natchitoches and made it her permanent home.

A true Southern Creole Belle, Beverly had music in her soul, dance in her every step, and beauty and grace with everything she touched. She adored her family and shined the most when they were near her.

Our hearts are warmed thinking upon Beverly dancing her way into her true love’s arms as they were reunited in heaven.

Beverly is survived by her three children, Monica Ann Dodd, Fred John Dodd III, Diane Marie Dodd and her daughter-in-law CheriE Summer Dodd. Her three grandchildren, Amanda Christine Dodd, Olivia Rose McDonald and John Robert Dodd. Her brother, Alphonse Balthazar and Sisters, Betty Conant, Mary Metoyer-Rachal and Geraldine Metoyer-Baker as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A viewing at Blanchard St Denis Funeral home will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5 between 10am and 2pm with a Rosary at 2pm

Formal Services will be held in Culver City, California with information to be released at a later date.
