
The Natchitoches Parish Council held a brief meeting on Oct. 17. Agenda items included:
Appoint Harlan “Mark” Guidry to the Northwest Louisiana Human Services District
First Introduction of Proposed Ordinances:
Amend Ordinance Sec. 125: Density Restriction in Natchitoches Parish and all its participating municipalities
Affect a zoning change from I-A District to a Business-3 District for the purpose of a club on a 1.49 acre tract located at 6539 Hwy. 71 in Clarence
Approve adoption of Ordinance 021-2022 the Operating and Capital budget for the fiscal year beginning Jan. 1, 2023 and ending Dec. 31, 2023 and making appropriations for each department, project, and account and capital budgets. There’s a 3% COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) for Parish employees included in the proposed budget.
Approve the adoption of Ordinance 022-2022 for the amendment of 2022 General Fund, Criminal Court, and Library Funds. The budget for Criminal Court overall is down.
Adopt Resolution 036-2022 with designation as a Green Light for Veterans County, Natchitoches Parish hereby declares from October through Veterans Day (Nov. 11, 2022) a time to salute and honor the service and sacrifice of men and women in uniform transitioning from active service.
Approve the holding of an election in Natchitoches Parish Hospital Service District for the Parish of Natchitoches on Saturday, April 29, 2023 to authorize the continuation (renewal) of a special tax therein (5.31% parish-wide).
Opt in to allow for expedited temporary housing assistance in accordance with La. RS 726 (F) (3) (b) (iii) (aa) and La. RS 726 (F) (4) (Act 526, 2022). This document will certify to GOHSEP that the local governing authority will waive any land use regulation relative to permitting for mobile homes, recreational vehicles, and other temporary housing directly adjacent to the survivor’s damaged dwelling to allow for expedited temporary housing assistance in the parish.
Seek sealed bid proposals for materials and supplies for the Parish Highway and Solid Waste Departments.
Seek sealed bid proposals for graders for the Parish Highway Department
Seek quotes for insurances for the parish including but not limited to Health, Supplemental Health, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, Workers Comp, Auto, Inland Marine, Cyber Security, Property, and Public Officials Liability.
