Law enforcement will monitor sex offenders for Halloween

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana Probation and Parole-Natchitoches District Office are in the planning stages of monitoring sex offenders during trick or treating festivities on Halloween, Oct. 31, according to Sheriff Stuart Wright.

Traditionally, this is one of children’s most anticipated fun-filled days of the year however; we must remain committed to making sure our children are safe from predators according to Detective Sgt. Amber Shirley, NPSO Sex Offender Coordinator.

If your neighborhood is having planned festivities other than on October 31, please contact Detective Amber Shirley at 357-7830 or Probation & Parole Region I Administrator Sederick Smith at 318-210-3769.
