DOTD to hold public meeting TODAY to address repair of Highway 119 at Magnolia Plantation

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is conducting a public meeting and asking for feedback regarding a proposed project on LA 119 at Magnolia Plantation in Natchitoches Parish.

The project stretches on LA 119 from its intersection with LA 484 southward to LA 1 in Derry, LA.

LA 119 is currently closed due to an embankment slide that has compromised the roadway. The purpose of the project is to provide a safe roadway for the residential and farming communities in the area, as well as preserve to the National Park Service grounds.

The purpose of the public meeting is to provide information about the project and to gather input from those who are interested.

Representatives from DOTD will be available to answer questions and discuss issues related to the project throughout the meeting.

A short presentation will be given at 6 p.m. describing the project with time for public questions and comments to follow.

Verbal comments can also be recorded and written comments can be submitted at the meeting. Comments can also be mailed or emailed to the DOTD address shown below, postmarked by Thursday, Nov. 10 to be included in the transcript of the meeting.
