Natchitoches Parish Fire District 6 members, along with members of Fire Districts 1, 4, and 5 completed the Emergency Vehicle Operator Course on Dec. 16-17. The course includes classroom instruction and a challenging competency driving course.

 

The competency course is designed to measure driver proficiency in handling emergency vehicles. The course duplicates situations in which the driver’s skill, judgment and knowledge of the limitations of the emergency vehicle are required for effective maneuvering.

 

This mandatory driver training ensures the safety of responders and the general public during emergency response.
