Natchitoches banker recognized as Louisiana Young Banker at LBEC luncheon

The Louisiana Bankers Education Council recently recognized recipients of the second annual Louisiana Young Banker Impact Awards: Minh Luu of Peoples Bank and Trust in New Roads, Kendra L. Palmer of b1BANK in Shreveport, Katrice Below of BOM in Natchitoches, Elizabeth Baldwin Hefler of Hancock Whitney in New Orleans and Ryan Kilpatrick of Origin Bank in Ruston.

The LBEC wrapped up 2022 with its second annual Louisiana Young Banker Impact Award luncheon and LBEC business meeting held in Baton Rouge. 

The 2021 Young Banker Impact Award recipients were asked to join the event as panel members during the luncheon. Together, they answered a series of questions explaining their journey of becoming the banker and leader that they are today. The feedback received was centered around how enlightening and motivating their advice and stories were. 

LBEC Councilman at Large Chelsea Higginbotham of b1BANK explained the criteria and what the award represents prior to LBA CEO Ginger Laurent presenting the 2022 awards. Chelsea explained that these young, driven, selfless, servant leaders must be 45 years of age or younger, work at an LBA member bank and have served in the banking industry for at least five years to qualify.   

The 2022 Louisiana Young Banker Impact Award recipients were next recognized for the incredible impacts they are making in our industry. The nominees chosen to receive the 2022 award are Katrice Below of BOM, Elizabeth Baldwin Hefler of Hancock Whitney, Ryan Kilpatrick of Origin Bank, Minh Luu of Peoples Bank and Trust and Kendra L. Palmer of b1BANK.

The luncheon concluded with introducing the new 2023 officers and council members: President Mallie Bowers of First Federal Bank of Louisiana, President-Elect Kathryn Richard of Bank of Zachary, Secretary/Treasurer Robbin Hardee of Crescent Bank and Trust, Education Chairman Blaine Hodges of Community Bank of Louisiana, Membership Chairman Josh Perot of Louisiana National Bank, Immediate Past President Chad Burgess of Citizens National Bank, N.A., Councilman at Large Hunter Creed of United Community Bank, Councilman at Large Ashley Hebert of Farmers-Merchants Bank and Trust, Councilman at Large Chelsea Higginbotham of b1BANK, Councilman at Large Janna LeBlanc of Community First Bank, Councilman at Large Jeff Lee of Home Federal Bank, Councilman at Large Minh Luu of Peoples Bank and Trust, Councilman at Large Dustin Parker of Caldwell Bank and Trust, Councilman at Large Donald Quintana of Gulf Coast Bank and Trust and Councilman at Large Amber Smith of First Guaranty Bank.
