
A fugitive wanted by the Texas Department of Corrections was captured during a traffic stop on Interstate-49 in Natchitoches Parish on Saturday afternoon according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau deputies were patrolling on Interstate-49, north of Natchitoches, on Dec. 17 at 12:54 pm when they clocked a 2010 Ford Focus traveling southbound, speeding 92 miles per hour in a posted 75 mph speed zone. Deputies stopped the vehicle on I-49 near milepost #141.
Deputies identified the operator of the vehicle as being 28-year-old Samuel V. Guerrero of Tyler, Texas. During the traffic stop, deputies asked Guerrero for his driver’s license but he could only produce a Texas Identification Card. A NCIC Wanted Persons Check revealed that Guerrero was wanted by the Texas Department of Corrections since October 26, 2022 for Parole Violation on Theft charges. Guerrero was arrested without incident.
Guerrero, was transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Speeding 92/75, Expired Texas Drivers License, and Texas Fugitive for Parole Violation. Guerrero remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center awaiting extradition to Texas. The vehicle was released to a passenger with a valid drivers license.
