The Natchitoches Parish’s Sheriff’s Office posted on social media on Jan. 9 that the Boyce Police Department named the suspects involved in a recent pursuit in Rapides and Natchitoches Parishes.
Boyce PD arrested Carmello Cascairi and Travis Guin after a high speed chase on Jan. 6.
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were alerted by the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office that Boyce Police Officers were in a vehicle pursuit on I-49 that eventually led to the vehicle exiting onto the Lena-Flatwoods Road in Rapides Parish, before entering Natchitoches Parish.
Boyce Police continued the pursuit on the Lena-Flatwoods Road over into Natchitoches Parish, then onto Hwy. 490, turning on the Emmanuel Road.
Louisiana State Police, Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area to assist.
Witnesses also provided information to NPSO Deputies as to the route of the pursuit.
Boyce Police eventually stopped the suspect vehicle on Lake Gorum Road near the Paul Bynog Road.
The two Natchitoches Parish men, who refused medical treatment at the scene, were taken into custody without incident. Both men were transported by Boyce Police for booking in Rapides Parish.
Cascairi, who has been involved in prior pursuits in Natchitoches Parish, was arrested and charged with reckless operation, aggravated flight, criminal conspiracy, resisting by force, possession of CDS I and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The passenger, Guin, was arrested and charged with simple possession, criminal conspiracy and resisting an officer by force or violence.
They were booked into DC-1.
