
The Louisiana Legislative Committee (JLCB) awarded the Creston Water System a grant for $1,050,000. Additionally, earlier in 2022 the Natchitoches Parish Government awarded the Creston Water System $320,000 in a matching funds grant. The Creston Water System will invest $114,000 to complete a project that totals $1,484,000. The project will include: a new pump station, a new 70,000 gallon water storage tank, a new booster station, generators for stand-by power on the wells and pumps, 8,500 feet of new distribution lines, and all new electrical and controls.
In addition to the grants, the Creston Water System has completed part 1 of a 2 part self funded project to move and replace thin wall distribution pipe on Highway 156, the Araneida Camp Road, the Carroll’s Camp Road, the J.O. Conlay Road and the Merriweather Camp Road.
