Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #6 and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to the scene of a mobile home fire on March 3 at 8:40 am in the 100 block of Ann Street in Cedar Grove Sub-Division just south of Natchitoches according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
NATCOM 911 Center received several 911 calls this morning reporting the fire at approximately 7:13am. Multiple fire units from NPFD #6 arrived on scene within minutes finding the mobile home fully engulfed in flames.
There were no injuries. The mobile home was a total loss. NPFD #6 believed the fire to be suspicious requesting assistance from the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the LSFM Office.
At 9:21am, Natchitoches Parish Fire District #6 were assisting LSFM Investigators at the scene of the original fire when they observed a second fire in the 100 block of Ann Street.
The mobile home received moderate damage. An individual near the fire scene was observed fleeing the area. NPSO Deputies responded to assist.
After a brief foot pursuit, a Louisiana State Fire Marshal Investigator took the suspect into custody. The suspect has been transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, 2-Counts of Simple Arson and 1-Count of Resisting an Officer.
There were no injuries in second fire. The investigation is still active and ongoing by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office. Any additional information will be released by LSFM.
