Natchitoches Police arrest two juveniles after shooting on Royal Street

The Natchitoches Police Department has arrested two juveniles and recovered three firearms yesterday afternoon after a report of shots being fired on Royal Street. 

Natchitoches Police Department officers responded to Royal Street on March 6 around 5:12 pm in reference to hearing gun shots in the area.  Officers were able to get a description of the suspect vehicle and were told it fled toward South Drive.  While searching the area officers located the vehicle on Williams Avenue and attempted a traffic stop on Scarborough Avenue.  When the suspect vehicle finally stopped two of the passengers fled from the car on foot.  After a brief foot chase the two juveniles were placed under arrest without incident.

One of the juveniles was arrested for illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, discharging a firearm within the city limits of Natchitoches and for being in possession of a stolen firearm.  The second juvenile was arrested for illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile.
