HAUGHTON — Maddie Robinson pitched yet another shutout on Thursday for the Natchitoches Central Lady Chiefs softball team, holding Haughton to two hits in a 7-0 District 1-5A road win.
Robinson, a senior, has now only surrendered one run in her last 50 innings pitched. Thursday she struck out eight and did not walk anyone.
Sydney Terrell went deep for NCHS in the fifth inning.
The Lady Chiefs, who are two-time defending district champions, racked up nine hits. Terrell and Desi Robinson had multiple hits. Terrell went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the NCHS attack.
Saturday Natchitoches Central plays in the Beau Chene Round Robin. The Lady Chiefs (14-3, 4-0 in district) resume 1-5A competition Tuesday at Byrd. Haughton fell to 6-7 overall, 2-3 in district.
