Following its second conference win of the season, the Northwestern State tennis team is set to host New Orleans on Tuesday in a rescheduled match.
The match takes place at 11 a.m. at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex, a match was that was originally scheduled for April 6, but had to be moved due to weather.
NSU (10-8, 2-3 SLC), which is coming off a convincing 6-1 win last time out against Nicholls, enters having won six of seven home matches this season.
Mariella Minetti is coming off a straight set win against Nicholls, each 6-1, and has won three of her four matches in league play.
Renske Ubachs, a freshman from The Netherlands, is going into this match after clinching the 6-1 win for NSU against Nicholls on Saturday.
Ubachs competed in the sixth slot against Sarah Hamley, defeating Hamley in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. She is 7-4 in singles, with four of those wins occurring on No. 6.
Tjasa Klevisar has proven why she is in the top slot in singles. Klevisar is 13-4 in singles. She is coming into this match with four consecutive wins all in conference play.
Sofi Garcia is 9-7 on the season in singles, playing predominantly at No. 4.
Garcia has shown her skills in doubles, going 10-5 on the season with three consecutive wins at No. 3 in conference play.
The Lady Demons lead the series 17-12 against the Privateers since it started in 1982. NSU won the last meet-up in 2022 at New Orleans 4-3. Northwestern State is 8-4 at home against New Orleans.
New Orleans (8-7, 1-4 SLC) is coming in off a close loss to Southeastern following a win against UIW. UNO dropped its first three matches to open league play, but has played better since.
Didi Canizares is 11-1 on the season at No. 1, only losing to Emma-Lou Pommiers of McNeese.
Following the mid-week match, the Lady Demons finish off the regular season with a home date with in-state rival Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday.
